Greetings from the AES Tech Public Relations Team.

We are pleased to announce that AES Tech has been officially selected as a "2022 Preliminary Hydrogen Specialized Company" by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and Chungcheongnam-do (Chungnam Province). This selection serves as official recognition of the excellence and commercial potential of our innovative “Anhydrous Ammonia Electrolysis Hydrogen Extraction Technology.”

Key Achievements & Technology

Leveraging core proprietary technology secured through collaboration with Professor Lee Chang-hyun's team at Dankook University's Department of Energy Engineering, AES Tech is developing a system capable of producing high-purity hydrogen (over 99.9%) by directly electrolyzing anhydrous liquid ammonia.

Our solution is a high-efficiency technology that reduces energy consumption by more than half compared to existing water electrolysis methods while producing the same volume of hydrogen. It holds a distinct competitive edge, particularly in its safety and efficiency:

  • Zero Emissions: By excluding oxygen sources during the electrolysis process, it completely eliminates the generation of Nitrogen Oxides (NOx).
  • Process Efficiency: It enables the direct production of high-purity hydrogen without the need for complex, multi-stage separation and purification processes.

[Future Plans & Vision]

CEO Chun Jaehong emphasized the strategic direction of the market, stating, "For the domestic introduction of overseas clean hydrogen, the Ammonia (NH3) method is overwhelmingly advantageous, offering a storage density per volume that is three times higher than that of high-pressure hydrogen."

Given that infrastructure for ammonia production, storage, and transport is already well-established in Korea, the key technological challenge lies in extracting hydrogen from ammonia at a low cost. AES Tech’s "Anhydrous Ammonia Electrolysis Technology" directly addresses this market demand and is expected to play a pivotal role in large-scale extraction processes for hydrogen produced overseas.

Currently, we are accelerating the commercialization of our technology with the goal of launching new products and securing international patents within the coming year. In recognition of our technical capabilities, we are also receiving positive investment interest from multiple domestic and international corporations.

AES Tech remains committed to contributing to the realization of a carbon-neutral society and growing as a leader in eco-friendly technology that establishes a robust hydrogen supply chain. We ask for the continued interest and support of our shareholders and customers.

Thank you.
